While Judgment Night the film is forgettable, its soundtrack remains unmissable. Judgment Night (the soundtrack) owes a lot of its success to producer Happy Walters. Rather than cover existing songs, the bands collaborated on the frequently shared themes of injustice, violence, prowess at the mike, and love of the herb. Additionally, contributions from Biohazard (title track with Onyx), Living Colour (“My, Myself & My Microphone” with Run-DMC), and Slayer (“Disorder” with Ice-T) speak refreshingly to just how broad rock music’s sub-genre spectrum really is. The Judgment Night soundtrack was years in the making, from Run DMC & Aerosmith's Walk This Way, to Anthrax and Public Enemy's Bring the Noise. The soundtrack to the film Judgment Night takes the racial themes of the movie to the soundtrack, pulling together some of the best acts in both genres. & Del The Funky Homosapien’s “Missing Link,” and Pearl Jam & Cypress Hill’s “Real Thing” representing the standout tracks. The boldly conceived collaborations largely reflect the parallel ascendance of alternative rock and hip-hop that accelerated during the early ‘90s, with Teenage Fanclub & De La Soul’s “Fallin,’” Dinosaur Jr. A quick glance at the cover artwork is enough to pique one’s interest, even before you press play on the record. The bad?
